SYCON “sun tracking” panels for water heating
An article published in the "Eco” daily newspaper in the Province of Bergamo
The "Eco di Bergamo" describes two energy-saving systems built with the installation of SYCON solar tracking concentrators: two on the roof of the sports centre in Gazzaniga and one in the gardens of the rest home in Cene, both of which are towns in the province of Bergamo.
"Each system is composed of a ‘capture’ surface made with 132 mirrors, creating a 12 m2 highly reflective surface that is resistant to weather conditions. [...] The Gazzaniga system has an average energy production of 70-100 kWh per day, while that of Cene is 140-200 kWh per day."
The vice-mayor of Gazzaniga, Marco Masserini, explains that "with regard to the cost-energy production ratio, this new system offers much greater benefits in terms of efficiency that photovoltaic solutions.”
